The mansion stays in rough shape until puzzles get solved consistently across dozens of rooms, with each cleared board chipping away at a renovation that clearly has a long way to go at the start. Instead of simply clearing boards, your progress gradually changes the house and unlocks new chapters of the story.

The puzzle levels use matching combinations, boosters, and explosive power-ups to create different ways of clearing obstacles. As the game progresses, level objectives become more demanding, making careful moves and smart use of boosters increasingly important. Thousands of levels provide plenty of stages to work through, while special events and expeditions add activities beyond the main progression.

The renovation side gives Homescapes its own sense of progression. You can decide how different rooms look while meeting Austin’s friends, neighbors, and other characters along the way. The mansion includes a variety of spaces, and the story continues as you complete more puzzles and unlock additional areas.

Our Gameplay Experience:

We noticed a well-documented complaint among long-time players: decoration choice feels generous in Austin’s main house but narrows sharply once the story moves to other locations, often down to choosing from just two or three options rather than redesigning the entire room. From what we’ve seen, the puzzle side holds up better over time, since clearing a board and watching a room change afterward feels more rewarding than a standard match-3 game, even as some later levels push you toward using extra moves or boosters. The relaxed presentation and character-driven story still make short sessions easy to settle into, decoration limits aside.

Core gameplay can be enjoyed without an internet connection, while competitions and some additional features require online access.
